Το Μήνυμα

A prophet stands at the city gate, arms opened wide as he proclaims a message to the gathered townspeople. Some lean in with curiosity, some smile and laugh among themselves, and others appear to mock or dismiss the preacher’s words. Women carrying water jars, elders in conversation, a child, and passersby fill the stone street, giving the scene the feeling of a public call to repentance in ancient Israel.

The setting evokes the biblical pattern of prophets speaking where the people gathered—at gates, courts, and streets—bringing God’s word into the ordinary life of the community. The mixed response reflects a recurring theme in Scripture: the message of the Lord is announced openly, yet every hearer must decide whether to receive it, resist it, or ridicule it.
